With us all being Quo fans we certainly will have favourite songs by the band and those tend to differ from one person to another. So I thought I'd start a thread where every day one of us will put up a personal favourite and maybe add a few words as to why (not mandatory though .. Mac ). Others can add their opinion or just listen and hopefully enjoy. I'm going to start with .. Why ? It has wonderful harmonies and the lyrics are hilarious Actually, thinking about it - this one could work acoustically as well

So that's two songs for today - better than none at all I've always thought Reason For Living was just another average song. This Roundhouse version though really took me by surprise and in a positive way - it does have ear worm qualities. Hm, the singer could've kept in better shape and is definitely overweight ..

This is one of my all-time favourites. It's a shame it didn't make it onto any album. I love the bluesy rhythm and the various instrumental solo bits. (BTW: is there any other Quo song with a slide-guitar in it?) The lyrics are quite funny, too. I had a long-distance train journey today (and the same to follow in the opposite direction tomorrow). Luckily, so far the line: "you may reach your destination, but you won't arrive on time" did not apply this time (I actually arrived at my destination on time), which is slightly surprising when travelling with Deutsche Bahn.

Obstruction Day is good, deserved an album spot. They should compile B-sides, alternate takes from the past 15 years into a new CD

Yep, Obstruction Day lyrics are funny - who came up with the lady shaver :lolflg: ? - but musically I'm not that keen on it. It just drags on a bit too long IMO. Looks like I'm the only one who loves Mortified then ..

At the moment I'm absolutely fond of this one here. I love the rhythm, I love the drive - and the lyrics. And the guy who sings them. ditto

Well that 'one a day' went well.............. we have 4 yes 4 on the first day......... That's what I thought yesterday .. reading obviously not everybody's strong point :dunce: Guess they changed it to one song per person per day .. :confused4: - which is fine by me actually .. better than nobody contributing

Yep, love Obstruction Day. The chug-a-chug and bluesy harmonica, just yummy. Past winner of a QuoCup too

This is a current fav. In my opinion unfairly overlooked due to the success of Matchstick Men. The deluxe version of Picturesque Matchstickable contains a great "proper" re-mixed version, if you haven't already heard.

IS IT MORNING? It's 7 or 8 hours since Per-Ola, Rich and spicksandspecks did one so if I wait another couple of hours then I can sneak in and do one while Macs at work (day off for me ) so he has to wait another day... and we could keep doing this every day... forever and ever :lolflg: OR... I could just put one on now and say Good Morning! - it's a new day here so here's my contribution for today... I'm not sure you're all going to love it, but I love it... it always makes me smile and feel good

There certainly are a few nice tunes on it and Tango sure is one of them and innovative, but the whole album sounds so sterile and lifeless. My favourite from TW would be Soft In The Head, but I never listen to it ..

Not an overly popular one I think but I'm with you, I'd not get tired of hearing this.
(I've not even put any song up yet btw )

To me, sterile and lifeless is precisely what it isn't. I know it's not a popular album with many a fan though but it's one of my favourite Quo albums. I even like at as much as One Step At A Time (but then probably many who dislike Thirsty Work with a passion would say the same thing )
