After losing track of Quo in the eighties I found them again, buying the RTYD cd (at that time I bought my first cd player/walkman and thought it would be only fair to buy a Quo cd as well, because once it was my favourite band. To my surprise they were still around and had released a new album, so I bought it and to my surprise I loved it! And in 2002/2003 (?) I went to see them during the Heavy Traffic tour (my last gig was in 1980). I also bought that cd. I find the cd a bit weak now, although there a quite some decent tracks on it. But then again, that's as always, only imo. This is my version of one of my favourite tracks:

That's interesting - we usually tend to like the same songs, but Another Day is one of the few Rossi songs I couldn't stand from first listen. Like I'm Givin' Up My Worrying or Beautiful. Listening to your version, maybe it isn't that bad actually - it has a lot of energy and drive. Or maybe your version is better than the original ?

Ain't that great, all those songs and all our different views on them. What you say about my version is exactly what I miss with the Heavy Traffic album, it all sounds a bit lukewarm, unexciting. Nevertheless, it was quite nice that the band played some tracks live, before they had released the album. It almost made me think that they indeed could come up with some pleasant surprises, live. Mm, they proved me wrong on this big time, I'm afraid.

Not listened to this song in a long time but am now reminded how much I like it.
No doubt you've heard this many times before but you're clearly a very talented fella. Great stuff.

Mm, they proved me wrong on this big time, I'm afraid. You know like you I returned to Quo with the HT tour after a long absence and it felt great. The show was a breath of fresh air, the audience wild and rather young and they played various songs from the album. I absolutely loved Heavy Traffic, while hubby had Solid Gold down as his favourite track. If only they had kept up that momentum and continued to exchange 4-5 songs for every tour ! They could still play the hits for the casual fans and we'd have been happy (and felt appreciated) too. But we've been there before and repeating it endlessly doesn't change a thing - only I just realised I might know the reason why, but that's stuff for another topic and shouldn't distract from your rendition.
