rockinronnie Many of you will be aware of all the hardwork Quomanuk (AKA Gordon) has done over the last couple of years compiling tabs and videos and the lessons he has created. Gordon started putting those on our site statusquoforum.proboards.com/Unfortunately that forum software is very dated so we have decided to switch over to Proboards. I was really pleased to see how active the Musicians Corner is here, and the new forum seeks to augment that. We are laying it out on a per album / per song thread basis, which basically means that each and every Quo track will have it's own single thread where you can put all the tabs, training vids, help, discussions on technique etc so that everything will be in one place. We also have information about equipment, facts about the band, and quotes from the people involved themselves It will take us a while to move everything across, but we have made a good start Please do pop along and join us at statusquoforum.proboards.com/Free to join,

Thought I'd stick this to the top, so it won't disappear down the side, as it's of interest for all musicians

Thank you Snake lady. Over the past few years I found that a lot time on the videos was talking about the chord shapes, techniques and counting. From that I think this is better way to learn the song by building up the techniques.
The music theory was added in the past few months as guide to building from the absolute beginner. The mains as follows to help to learn about quo music by theory and working examples.
1 Tuning the Guitar and finding your away around it.
2 Reading Tabs though by ear is best skill to have( I don`t have a great ear I do try though)
3 Right hand strumming by counting out loud and then added more strums to one bear of the same bar ( no chord needed for that) 3a We will look ate the Shuffle beat and Triplets that helps with 12 bar blues and Quo songs
4 Learning about power chord and finding the root notes by examples
5 The boogie chord shapes that is releated to power chord shape
6 12 bar basic and ways to play 12 bar via root notes
7 By going through 1 to 6 we can move on to some Quo songs.
Once we have worked through that it help the player to read tabs and then they can move onto the intermediate and advanced Guitar songs.
Again it`s down time factors at a guess with 1 hour practice by learning each section in turn until the Player can do it with out thibking about it to much. Then I would guess a 6 months the player will be able to go forward and learn more music and songs.
Take care learning an instrument does take time.
Rock a rock rock ....
